It's 100% waterproof. We tested the 10x7 Aqua Quest Defender tarp in the outer bands of Hurricane Matthew and even made a homemade canoe with it attached to maple saplings. There are twenty-one reinforced webbing loops sewn all over the tarp and it even has four pole inserts sewn into the corners.
