I'm Gabriel Roberts from Roberts Bushcraft. My Dad, Curry Roberts, and I decided to hike along the Roanoke River and Dad tried a few casts with this handline fishing kit.
He caught three hickory shad and we had another great time on the Roanoke River. The best part of Dad's handline is that everything he made it with he found discarded here at the Roanoke River. The cedar handle, fishing line, bait and hook, weight, everything! People tend to cut their fishing tackle when they snag a branch or rock and we scour the edges and bushes for that tackle. We've modified our walking sticks with hooks and line so we can snag and reclaim the left behind tackle.
