USMC Lightweight Exposure Gear with Gore-Tex & Wind Pro Fleece jackets

These jackets are a part of the Mountain/Cold Weather Clothing System.

The lightweight exposure jacket and trousers are designed for wind and rain protection in mountain conditions. The USMC Lightweight Exposure jacket and trousers comply with Propper International product number F740187929 for the jacket, and product number F720187929 for the trouser.

The jacket has a center front self-sealing zipper, an attached hood stowed in the collar, two pass-through front middle pockets, and an attached rank tab on the front. The sleeves have pockets with flaps, and elasticized wrist openings with hook and loop tabs to adjust comfortably around the wrist. The underarms have pit zippers to allow for venting.

The outer shell material for the jacket and trousers shall be waterproof and moisture vapor permeable constructed with a 100% nylon shell fabric W. L. Gore GORE-TEX Paclite laminate, or equal. The shell material shall be waterproof and windproof. The outer shell material shall quickly dry when it becomes wet or damp and shall be durable to repeated launderings.

The Wind Pro fleece jacket is intended for wear by male and female military personnel of the USMC in mountainous and cold weather environments. It will provide improved wind resistance, breathability, and water repellency when worn in intermediate to cold weather environments. It will be part of the Mountain/Cold Weather Clothing System and replace the current fleece jackets.

The Wind Pro fleece jacket is an updated version of the current fleece jacket - the pit zips and reinforcement patches on the upper chest, back and shoulders have been deleted.

To reduce bulk, the undercollar is a Taslan material, and stretch fleece side / underarm panels have been added for mobility and breathability.

The jacket comes in the Desert MARPAT print w/ a durable water-repellent finish (a Polartec Wind Pro fabric) that has wind resistance, breathability, and water-repellent performance characteristics.
