The Ruger AR-556 MPR is a durable and reliable semi-auto rifle. It features a cold hammer-forged, alloy barrel with 1:8" twist with precise rifling for optimal accuracy and longevity. The Ruger MPR boasts M4 feed ramps and a 5.56 NATO chamber allowing the use of both 5.56 NATO and .223 ammunition. The barrel and 1/2"-28 Ruger flash suppressor offer a matte black oxide finish to reduce glare and provide corrosion resistance. Its durable 7075-T6 hard-coat anodized aluminum forgings plus shot-peened and proof-tested 9310 steel bolt and 8620 steel bolt carrier will provide years of service. The Ruger carrier and gas key are chrome plated and staked for longevity. The type III hard coat anodized aluminum handguard offers unrivaled durability and provides M-LOK slots along the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions for easy mounting of M-LOK compatible accessories. It features a picatinny rail at the front and rear for mounting of optics, red dots or open sights. The threaded barrel allows for use of standard muzzle accessories and the Mid-length gas system provides smooth operation at a lower gas port pressure than a carbine system.
