The Magpul PMAG 40 GEN M3 is a durable, reliable 40-round polymer magazine designed for AR-15/M4 compatible weapons chambered in 5.56 NATO. Its impact and crush-resistant polymer construction is built to withstand wear and tear, ensuring its longevity. This magazine features constant curve internal geometry and an anti-tilt, self-lubricating follower, which helps with reliable feeding. It also has a long-life USGI-SPEC stainless steel spring that contributes to its durability and functionality. The magazine's rear has a redesigned bolt catch notch that provides increased bolt catch clearance, while the over-travel stop on the spine helps prevent over-insertion on compatible weapons.

The Magpul PMAG 40 GEN M3 is designed to be slim for better compatibility with tight magazine pouches. It also has low profile ribs, aggressively textured front and rear surfaces for positive control, and a paint pen dot matrix on the magazine's bottom panel for easy marking.
