Like the original MP5, the Zenith ZF-5 runs via gas-operated, roller-delayed blowback action, which helps to soften recoil and makes it easy to put a lot of lead downrange very quickly-and with a high degree of accuracy for targets near and far. The trigger breaks nicely at 6-8 lbs., and the ambidextrous safety selector is a huge improvement over the German original. Zenith also provided an AR-style mag release button in addition to the paddle-style mag release of the original. Both work well, but the paddle release is more fun, if we may be so bold. Sights are a bit different if you're used to the AR-15 life, but they're fairly intuitive and allow you to work at a number of different ranges.
