Free-floated barrels are inherently more accurate because they are allowed to vibrate, flex and move freely within the stock, WITHOUT interference from contact points. The X-Bolt's sporter-profile heavy barrel is hand-chambered for precise headspacing-again, a time-consuming process, and one that other rifle manufacturers often skip-which provides superior accuracy and shot-to-shot consistency. But all that accuracy doesn't mean a thing if the trigger lets you down. To that end, the X-Bolt comes standard with the 3-lever Feather Trigger that provides a clean, crisp pull with no take-up or creep and minimal overtravel.
