WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 SHORT RIFLE COLOR CASE HARDENED

WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 SHORT RIFLE COLOR CASE HARDENED

The Model 1873 is Winchester's most famous lever-action repeating rifle and has earned itself the title of "The Gun That Won the West". Originally manufactured from 1873 to 1923, the rifle has been reintroduced to the civilian market by popular demand and has since become an icon of the American West with the famous Forgotten Winchester incident in 2014 where an original production rifle was found leaning against a tree in Great Basin National Park undisturbed for nearly a century. The rifles feature a side loading gate for easy loading along with a single action hammer that allows the firearm to remain loaded in a safe condition by dropping the hammer. This model is a throwback to classic designs and features a color case hardened receiver finish, rifle-style forearm cap and a classic crescent type stock. The shorter 20-inch barrel makes for a more compact and easily maneuverable package excellent for brush hunting or fast action shooting. It is chambered in .45 Colt/Long Colt with a 10-round magazine capacity.
