Palmetto State Armory introduces the Olcan, a bullpup-configured JAKL rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO, engineered for compact handling without sacrificing durability or performance. At its core is a 6105 aluminum monolithic upper receiver extending to rifle length, with a fully self-contained buffer system housed inside the upper. The bullpup lower reduces overall length while maintaining balance and includes an ambidextrous magazine release for versatile operation. The rifle is finished in black hardcoat anodizing and comes equipped with a Pin & Weld SilencerCo ASR flash hider and Die Free Co Kung Fu grip.

The Olcan operates using a long-stroke piston system, pairing a Carpenter 158 bolt with a 4340 steel carrier in a robust hybrid design that blends AR and AK operating principles. An ambidextrous, knurled JAKL side-charging handle allows tool-free repositioning to either side of the receiver. Gas regulation is handled by a toolless 8-position adjustable gas block, enabling quick tuning by hand. Routine maintenance is simplified, as the carrier group, recoil system, and sled assembly can all be removed without tools for fast field stripping and cleaning.

The 14.5-inch 5.56 NATO barrel features a Pin & Weld SilencerCo ASR Flash Hider, bringing the assembly to a compliant overall length while retaining suppressor compatibility. The ASR mounting system supports rapid attachment and removal across SilencerCo suppressors using a secure locking ring that prevents loosening during sustained fire. Its resonance-reducing design minimizes the tuning-fork effect commonly found in multi-prong flash hiders, delivering consistent performance under demanding conditions.
